Personal coaching is the gold standard of development.
The most important part of it, is that it is 'personal'.
Coaching is not an off-the-peg service; it is bespoke and, as such, if you are going to make the best of this opportunity, your choice of coach and coaching method is of fundamental importance.
My Approach to Coaching & Methodologies
My coaching is designed to fit your needs and make you feel comfortable as you get to know yourself better, explore your thinking and challenge yourself.
I draw on my experience as an HR director, business psychologist and coach to find the approach that I believe will best suit you. I do this within a safe, sensitive and supportive coaching relationship. I want to make sure you receive the best experience possible.
I listen to you, so that I really understand your context and perspective, and give you time, support and a space to think.
My training as a business psychologist and coach, allows me to draw on a wide range of psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches such as Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, but I will equally use solution focussed coaching.
My approach helps you to achieve clarity in your thinking, gain greater insight into yourself and others, and a broader perspective on your circumstance. This leads to new responses and empowers you to make sustainable changes for yourself, which in turn helps you to enhance your impact, meet your commercial goals and feel more personally fulfilled.

I derive my coaching credibility from a wide ranging career coupled with in depth-academic studies and training; a great combination of theory, experience and expertise:
I have over 23 years’ experience in commercial roles and HR, in large international organisation which include ICI, United Biscuits, AkzoNobel and Premier Foods. I've worked both in the UK and internationally; in PLC, Private Equity and family owned businesses. This experience not only helps me understand and relate to the dynamics and challenges facing leaders, but I equally understand the HR development agenda and the challenge to grow leaders and foster positive cultural change.
As a former HR Director and Head of Talent, I've worked with Exec and Leadership teams on their development, developed and implemented leadership programmes and coached high potential individuals and Directors. I've also led resourcing, development and succession planning.
As an organisational psychologist, I've developed expertise in organisational and individual behaviour and I've led research into predictors of promotion.
I have worked internationally, and, as a speaker of English, French and German, with a B.A. in European Studies and Modern Languages, I’m sensitive to cultural differences and the challenges that this can create for cross cultural working relationships.
I’ve faced difficult circumstances in both my personal and professional life, and this allows me to offer empathy and an appreciation of others.
Why do I now devote my time to coaching?
Quite simply, I enjoy it and it's a privilege to work with a diverse range of organisations and individuals. I get immeasurable satisfaction from helping others with their career and supporting them to find solutions to organisational or personal challenges.
What my clients say about me
Over the last year, I've worked with clients in FMCG, Technology, Manufacturing, Law, Education, Oil and Energy and Healthcare.
My clients are at varying points in their careers and come from very different backgrounds. Some of my clients are experiencing significant change, most want to get more out of themselves, and many have a specific development need.
Here are a few testimonials from clients I have worked with:
Sarah is a highly experienced and expert coach with deep skill and empathy in helping people discover and realise their potential. She works in partnership with her coachees to bring out their very best.
Head of Leadership Development
Where do we meet?
I have been coaching virtually for a number of years, and find it as effective as face to face coaching. Many of my coachees work internationally, and prefer the convenience of meeting virtually.
We can meet within your organisation, however creating a mental space away from your work can facilitate your thinking.
I have a well ventilated and sanitised coaching space in the Chilterns, where I coach face to face, 2m apart.
