My Approach to Coaching & Methodologies

My coaching is designed to fit your needs and make you feel comfortable as you get to know yourself better, explore your thinking and challenge yourself.

I draw on my experience as an HR director, business psychologist and coach to find the approach that I believe will best suit you. I do this within a safe, sensitive and supportive coaching relationship. I want to make sure you receive the best experience possible.

I listen to you, so that I really understand your context and perspective, and give you time, support and a space to think.

My training as a business psychologist and coach, allows me to draw on a wide range of psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches such as Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, but I will equally use solution focussed coaching.

My approach helps you to achieve clarity in your thinking, gain greater insight into yourself and others, and a broader perspective on your circumstance. This leads to new responses and empowers you to make sustainable changes for yourself, which in turn helps you to enhance your impact, meet your commercial goals and feel more personally fulfilled.

About Me

Who am I and why do I coach?

Sarah Graham LOW RES headshot less formal_edited.jpg

I have been trained to high
professional
standards:

  • MSc. Organisational Behaviour/Occupational Psychology, Birkbeck, University of London.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Executive Coaching, Ashridge, Hult International Business School.

  • Accreditation as an Executive Coach with Ashridge Business School. It is globally one of the most rigorous and toughest coaching accreditation processes and  achieved the European Mentoring and Coaching Council's EQA at Senior Practitioner level.

  • EMCC Global Accredited Executive Coach at Senior Practitioner Level (European Mentoring and Coaching Council).

  • B.A. European Studies and Modern Languages.

  • Facet 5, Teamscape and Korn Ferry Dimension accredited.

  • Mental Health First Aider Accredited, MHFA England.

I derive my coaching credibility from a wide ranging career coupled with in depth-academic studies and training; a great combination of theory, experience and expertise:

  • I have over 23 years’ experience in commercial roles and HR, in large international organisation which include ICI, United Biscuits, AkzoNobel and Premier Foods. I've worked both in the UK and internationally; in PLC, Private Equity and family owned businesses. This experience not only helps me understand and relate to the dynamics and challenges facing leaders, but I equally understand the HR development agenda and the challenge to grow leaders and foster positive cultural change.
  • As a former HR Director and Head of Talent, I've worked with Exec and Leadership teams on their development, developed and implemented leadership programmes and coached high potential individuals and Directors. I've also led resourcing, development and succession planning.
  • As an organisational psychologist, I've developed expertise in organisational and individual behaviour and I've led research into predictors of promotion.
  • I have worked internationally, and, as a speaker of English, French and German, with a B.A. in European Studies and Modern Languages, I’m sensitive to cultural differences and the challenges that this can create for cross cultural working relationships.
  • I’ve faced difficult circumstances in both my personal and professional life, and this allows me to offer empathy and an appreciation of others.

Outside of work, I also support people to move forward. I am a champion of neuro diversity and the leader of a voluntary organisation which provides safety and security for people fleeing from war and supports people to empower themselves. I strongly believe in shared insight and the power of connecting individuals and teams in organisations and across society to drive positive change.
